Next day we woke up early and left beautiful Monterey Bay to make our way to San Francisco.  The drive seemed pretty quick and we arrived at our hotel in a little less than two hours.  On the way we passed a few artichoke farms and I was tempted to ask Jon to pull over and buy a couple of cases to bring home lol.  I love artichokes :D

After settling into our hotel, we drove over to the Fisherman’s Wharf to grab some lunch.  As we walked towards the food stands, we passed a big building and decided to check it out.  Turns out it was the Musée Mécanique, The Mechanical Museum.  There were lots of old arcade machines and cost around twenty-five cents each to run.

We noticed that many of these machines had a dark theme. This one showed Chinese men smoking opium and eventually dying. I remember the grim reaper coming out at the end. Depressing…

Jon tried this one, I don’t remember if he saved the person on top or not… lol

This door opens and shows someone hanging. Very dramatic lol.

I put twenty-five cents into a Character Reading machine and this was the card I got.  I thought it was a pretty darn accurate reading…especially for a quarter lol.

As we left the arcade, this was our view.  The fog around Alcatraz made the notorious island seem a bit creepy, even though the sun was out.
