San Francisco Chinatown

After shopping at the Ferry Building, we hopped onto a cable car and rode to the famous San Francisco Chinatown.  This chinatown is the largest outside of Asia, oldest in North America, and covers 24 square blocks.  Even though we live in a predominantly Asian part of Southern California, being in San Francisco’s Chinatown felt very different.  Here there were lots of people, narrow streets, tiny shops filled with fun stuff, colorful buildings, and the smell of Chinese style dishes and desserts wafting in the air.  It almost felt like we were in a different country.
