After spending a couple of hours having dinner and shopping, we decided to head back to our hotel. I was really worried that our pralines and cigars would have gotten wet if it had started to rain again. Can you imagine how sad it would have been if our pralines melted??
The rain had made the streets dark and shiny, which made all of the photos I took that night even more dramatic.
After having dinner at The Star Steak and Lobster House, we decided to explore the French Quarters to find some dessert.
Thank goodness it had stopped sprinkling. Of course we didn’t bother packing an umbrella for our trip. Sadly, rain isn’t something people from Los Angeles are usually prepared for. Good thing we both wore jackets that had hoods.
We strolled down the street from our hotel, saw The Star Steak and Lobster House, and decided to go in for some dinner.
It was a small restaurant with red walls, mood lighting, and lots of framed photographs of old time actors and actresses. We quickly checked out the menu and decided to order.
Last year Jon and I were lucky enough to fly to New Orleans, spend a week there, then another full week driving back to Los Angeles. At first we were thinking about going to Orlando, but figured that Disney World would be a much better choice when we have kids. So after months of planning, we set off on our first long road tripping adventure.
We left early Tuesday morning and the beautiful geese we saw outside our house was a great sign for travel.
